The Portal Between
The Kindle store for Amazon UK is so new that these initial sales are the time when a few sales will rocket a title up the charts more than they will in a month or two when it’s all settled down. So I know these figures and rankings are a little unrealistic and do reflect the time in which they stand.
But I was still number 92 for a while and that really made my day.
My first book aimed intentionally for younger readers, after the demands of my children who protested they aren’t allowed to read my Adult Portal Series. (more…)
THE MAP AND THE STONE is so close to release now. I’m just waiting for a couple of images to come in and I promised to hang on til the end of July. But the story is formatted, dedication written, acknowledgements and thank you page all done, copyright page sorted and ISBN attached. The cover is done and the interior is littered with fabulous artwork from a variety of artists. (more…)

The Map and The Stone has an isbn and there’s a cover being developed. I’m on a round of editing that should be one of the last, although I suspect you can never be properly “finished”. There’s always something else to change and tweak. I just have to find a place where I can balance the “I think it’s done” with “I never want to see that book ever again” (more…)
Sometimes I get these snippets of scenes wandering into my head and I have to play with them for a while until I work out where they fit in.

I’ve been bogged down in editing The Map and the Stone and blogging sort of goes on hold while that happens. Sorry, but that’s the way it is. But I’m now almost there with 12 chapters out of 14 done and the end of chapter 14 left to write. (more…)

The deadline for judging the first round is in a few days and to celebrate/commiserate I’ve decided to put the price of my e-books down to $0.99 (yes, that’s US Dollars/Cents) on ALL e-reader formats including basic pdf and html webpage so you can read on your home computer, laptop or portable e-reader – whichever you prefer.
Both The Portal Between and The Portal Sundered will stay at $0.99 at Smashwords, until I either win or get culled from the competition – so grab yours fast in case I don’t last long! It could be as soon as Feb 25th or as long as June 14th.
