The Map and The Stone has an isbn and there’s a cover being developed. I’m on a round of editing that should be one of the last, although I suspect you can never be properly “finished”. There’s always something else to change and tweak. I just have to find a place where I can balance the “I think it’s done” with “I never want to see that book ever again” (more…)

A new look
Tuesday, May 25th, 2010I’ve been aware for a while that my website isn’t as it should be. It was looking tired and didn’t work well. It needed not only freshening up but a total rethink. (more…)

Competition.
Sunday, February 21st, 2010I’ve entered The Portal Between into a competition, this competition. I haven’t won or even got through the first round yet, but YOU can have a prize…
The deadline for judging the first round is in a few days and to celebrate/commiserate I’ve decided to put the price of my e-books down to $0.99 (yes, that’s US Dollars/Cents) on ALL e-reader formats including basic pdf and html webpage so you can read on your home computer, laptop or portable e-reader – whichever you prefer.
Both The Portal Between and The Portal Sundered will stay at $0.99 at Smashwords, until I either win or get culled from the competition – so grab yours fast in case I don’t last long! It could be as soon as Feb 25th or as long as June 14th.
Oh and review would be very welcome on the Amazon page, thanks..

Fixed the car.
Friday, November 20th, 2009“Thank you so much.” Lou stood with a grateful smile and moved to the back door as Kate was pouring out plastic beakers of blackcurrant squash for all the children and Lily was putting the kettle on, again. Lou went to the back door to put the eggs in her car and check on how Jack was doing with his tinkering. (more…)

“RHYS!”
Tuesday, November 10th, 2009“RHYS!” Someone called his name and the world was shaking.
“Earthquake?” He mumbled as he dragged sleep filled eyes open to see his mum standing there beside his bed. (more…)

Don’t eat me!
Sunday, November 8th, 2009“Don’t eat me?” Rhys whimpered and started to back towards his door.
“Please do not fear young master, I will not harm you.” The creatures voice was soft and whispering, the voice Rhys had been hearing for days now and very familiar. (more…)

Only 4 days to go…
Tuesday, October 27th, 2009Only four days left to go until the madness that is NaNoWriMo kicks off for another year. I’ve worked through the “I can’t do it” and the “What if I fail” wobbles and I’m starting to develop the embryonic beginnings of a story and I even have a couple of characters with more lurking in a shadowy fashion in the background. I can almost see them out of the corner of my eye when they think I’m not looking. But I know they’re there, just waiting for the story to be told. (more…)

Operation Ebook Drop
Wednesday, October 21st, 2009I used to be someone who thought that violence solves nothing and that most of the warzones in the world are unnecessary and assorted western countries have no right to send troops into less developed countries and we have no right to impose our democracy on anyone. So I had little sympathy or empathy for any of the armed forces stationed abroad beyond, “It must be hard being away from family for so long but you chose that life.” (more…)

This year I’ve set myself an extra challenge, I’m going to share as I write. You are welcome to read along, comment and offer suggestions and feedback – but I do reserve the right to use or not use any comments as I see fit. (more…)

Squidoo
Wednesday, September 30th, 2009Anyone else found squidoo yet? I discovered it as a networking, information based site about a year or so ago and I really didn’t like it. It was slow, not intuitive and the help pages were no help at all. So I abandoned my account and ignored it.
Until now. (more…)
